The Ballino via ferrata goes up the rock face beside the Rio Ruzza waterfall in the Ballino pass. There are several vertical sections with simple suspension bridges. It's exposed, very well equipped and safe but quite challenging and not suitable for those who suffer from vertigo.

No particular athletic skills are required, from the age of six anyone can climb. Taking part in a course helps you to learn about the equipments and the behaviours to climb in safety.  We will stay together for four hours and will climb in the crags in Arco, known in the world for their beauty.

The via dei Contrabbandieri (Smugglers' way) is not a via ferrata but an unequipped ledge overlooking the lake between Riva del Garda and Limone. It's a horizontal mountaineer route to be tackled with the same techniques of vertical climbing. It requires experience in via ferrata or rock climbing.

The “Scaloni di Ceniga” route is partially furnished with iron handrails although there is no actual climbing involved. The walk is graded as easy and is very scenic. I would highly recommend it as a first experience of a via ferrata to familiarise yourself with the equipment.
